We have great pleasure in welcoming you to the Indiana Malayalee Association (IMA). IMA is dedicated to provide a forum for malayalees to come together and celebrate the culture and heritage of Kerala in Indianapolis and neighboring cities. Every year, IMA conducts numerous cultural programs and events for our community. We intend to preserve the Malayalee culture and traditions through celebrations and events. These events provide opportunities for artist to perform and entertain friends and families. These celebrations encourage the younger generation to see, enjoy, appreciate and learn the beauty of malayalee culture and traditions. It also provides a forum for the Malayalees to meet and exchange views and ideas, make new friends and foster their friendship in Indianapolis and around. It also creates a forum to promote the moral, social, educational, literary, artistic and cultural heritage of malayalees in Indiana.

Activities
IMA is a rapidly growing organization with many dedicated members and year round programs including various cultural events. IMA has initiated several captivating events throughout the year for Malayalees in and around Indianapolis. We always promote and entertain our children and youth to grow up culturally and traditionally educated.
IMA Talent Show
IMA conducts a talent show every year to provide opportunity to share and appreciate the talents of all young and old malayalee artists in Indiana. This has been received with great enthusiasm among malayalees and other communities. The talent show also demonstrates our rich cultural traditions and values to other communities in and around Indiana.
IMA Kerala day - Keralotsavam
IMA has introduced a yearly event called Kerala day - Keralotsavam. The idea behind this event is to encourage youth to be involved in all the traditional Kerala cultural events and there by promote value and heritage to the community. Kerala day brings malayalees to share their traditional and cultural diversity in food, beverages, dress, decorations, art, music, walk and talks. IMA also showcase various charity activities and fund raising campaigns during Kerala day to show the malayalee solidarity to the needy.
IMA Picnic
IMA picnic is conducted yearly with enthusiasm among members, families, friends and relatives. The annual Picnic attracts many malayalee families, children and adults alike, to have fun activities together in an outdoor setting. Food and Games are the highlights of this event. IMA sponsor prizes for all the winners for the several sport activities conducted on that day.
IMA Onam
Malayalees can not forget the memories of Onam the festival of Kerala. Our Onam celebrations bring Malayalees together from various parts of the country to Indianapolis. King Maveli will never forget to visit IMA and their members yearly. We celebrate our festival traditionally with style and fashion. Pookkalam, Thiruvathira, Vallamkali, Chendamelam are few of the cultural events that take place during the Onam celebration. Onam Sadhya, traditionally dressed and much more! Come and join our fun filled day of events for this year Onam!
IMA New Year/ Christmas
The New year/Christmas celebrations attract malayalee families and friends to reflect on life in Indiana. There is general body meeting on the same day of the event. Several family and group activities will be conducted during the event.
IMA Malayalam Class
IMA conducts regular Malayalam classes for the children of the association members. These classes and other activities create awareness and promote the value of our culture to our young ones.
